Mobilink Foundation supports the Disabled Welfare Association

Karachi: November 18, 2011 – The Mobilink Foundation has extended support to the Disabled Welfare Association, Karachi (DWA), with the donation of tricycles, wheel chairs and ration bags.

Employee volunteers, known as the Mobilink Torchbearers, helped deliver the items to the DWA, using the opportunity to interact with the special children and adults, to encourage them to never give up and to always hold on to their dreams.

Omar Manzur, Director Public Relations and CSR, Mobilink added, “At Mobilink, it is our firm belief that such disabilities do not impose any limitations on potential and capability. People with disabilities are an essential part of our society, and as before Mobilink remains at the forefront of supporting their needs through the Mobilink Foundation.”

The Mobilink Foundation is involved in support activities for worthy causes across Pakistan. The Foundation’s flood relief efforts in 2011 have reached out to over 50,000 flood victims in Sindh, with further initiatives in planning for rehabilitation and provision of livelihood for flood victims.


6th Jazz SMS Khazana awards 50 tola of gold

Karachi: November 10, 2011 – Mobilink has announced the grand prize winner of the 6th Jazz SMS Khazana offer, who was awarded 50 tolas of gold as Grand Prize.

The Jazz SMS Khazana has been one of the most heavily participated SMS campaigns in Pakistan; with this being the sixth version of this very popular trivia based SMS competition, which tests the participants’ general knowledge. Jazz Malamaal reshapes lives across Pakistan

Karachi: November 1, 2011 – Mobilink has concluded the Jazz Malamaal campaign for 2011, with a grand awards ceremony held in Lahore. The winner of the grand prize was presented with the keys to a brand new house in the prestigious Safari Villas in Lahore, with luxury 1300 cc cars also awarded to four other lucky Jazz subscribers from across Pakistan.

Jazz’s month long Malamaal campaign was received with great enthusiasm by Jazz subscribers from across the country. This unique activity was an initiative by Jazz to provide it’s subscribers with the largest and most prestigious awards campaign within Pakistan’s cellular industry.

The winner of the grand prize, Mr Mudassir Salim, who hails from Daska, was overwhelmed on the occasion, and said, “I still can’t believe that I am now the owner of my very own home in Lahore. Jazz has fulfilled a life long dream, and I am truly thankful to Allah, and Jazz Malamaal.”

Pakistan and Sri Lanka to compete for the Mobilink Jazz Cup 2011

Karachi: October 6, 2011 – Mobilink Jazz has partnered with the Pakistan Cricket Board to organize the upcoming Pakistan - Sri Lanka cricket series, which has been titled the Mobilink Jazz Cup 2011. The announcement was made at the National Cricket Academy, where Mobilink and PCB also inaugurated the official series logo.

The Mobilink Jazz Cup 2011, being organized in the United Arab Emirates, will be held between October 18 and November 25, and comprises three tests, five one day internationals, and one T20. This initiative continues Mobilink Jazz’s commitment to providing healthy entertainment to the people of Pakistan, whilst continuing to satisfy the nation’s passion for cricket. Jazz has always been at the forefront of promoting cricket in Pakistan, having previously contributed towards strengthening Pakistan’s domestic cricket infrastructure as well as developing cricket stars for the future through talent hunt activities in partnership with the PCB.

Mobilink Foundation reaches out to flood victims in Sindh

Karachi: October 3, 2011 – The Mobilink Foundation and Mobilink Torchbearers reached out to flood victims in the Mirpurkhas region of Sindh distributing food rations and water for over 3,500 people.

The activity was part of Mobilink Foundation’s ongoing campaign to distribute relief amongst flood victims, for which Mobilink has partnered with the Pakistan Navy. Mirpukhas is one of the worst hit areas and the Mobilink Foundation mobilized a team of employee volunteers from Karachi and Hyderabad, who distributed worth of food supply and 4,500 liters of water to help over 3,500 flood victims in the area. In addition to the relief goods, Mobilink Torchbearers also spent time at the Pakistan Army Relief Camp at Mirpurkhas with the children and sharing the burden of the families who were taking shelter at the camp.

Omar Manzur, Director Public Relations & CSR, Mobilink highlighted, “At Mobilink, we are committed towards making every effort necessary to reach out to the flood affected people of Pakistan, and this activity is part of a much larger initiative to provide relief to those affected by the floods in Sindh.”

In addition to mobilizing direct relief, Mobilink has also enabled its subscribers to donate towards Mobilink’s Flood Relief Fund by sending a blank SMS to 616, with each SMS contributing Rs 10 plus tax for the flood relief drive.
